It is so much fun being part of a luau event. Tropical decorations, everyone dressed in Hawaiian clothing, and lots of festive food and drink.
This luau was extra special, as it was a celebration of a Hawaiian family sending their son off into the Navy.
And what's a luau without a tiki bar? Well, no worries! Maui Wowi DC was there with the tropical tiki bar blending up "smoothies that party" all night. There was a wide selection of alcohols to mix into the drinks -- but Parrot Bay coconut rum was the favorite of the evening. After all, it was a hot night and everyone needed to stay hydrated.
There was also plenty of authentic Hawaiian luau entertainment. The luau hostess was part of Hoku Hula, a Hawaiian halau (school) and they performed beautiful Hawaiian hula and dances for everyone. There was even a fire dancer and fireworks to end the show. WOW!
We received wonderful compliments from everyone. Here's what Melissa Escobar, hostess with the mostess, posted on our Facebook page:
Big Mahalo to you Stacey for making my son's shipout luau EXTRA special!!!! Hope to see you again soon. Aloha & God bless!
